- Hyperlinks
- ----------
-
- Hyperlinks are the means by which one navigates through the WWW.
- Hyperlinks are "sensitive" areas of text or image which, when
- activated by a click of the mouse, force the browser to load up the
- appropriate HTML document.
-
- 1 - Save the current document under a new name by going to
- Project...Save as. Click on the "Add current document" button
- adjacent to the hotlist window. The path of the document will
- appear in the window. Now go to Project...New to start a new
- document.
-
- 2 - Insert a template, as we did previously. In the BODY, type:
- <P> "The link has worked."
-
- 3 - Save this document under a new name by going to Project...Save
- As, and give it a new name.
-
- 4 - Click on the button "Add current document" which is adjacent to
- the hotlist window. The path of this document will appear in the
- hotlist window.
-
- 5 - Double click on the path of the PREVIOUS document in the hotlist
- window (i.e, the one we entered first). A requestor will appear,
- asking you if you want to save the document. As we have just done
- that, click on "No". The document will load in.
-
- 6 - Place the cursor at the bottom of the body (but above the
- </BODY>). Type in:
-
- 7 - Select that text, and then double click on the " Locallink "
- item in the "Navigation" command list. A file requester will
- appear; select the file which you had been previously editing (if
- you are unsure of it's name, it's path will be displayed in the
- hotlist window).
-
- 8 - Now reload the document into AWeb. If you have done everything
- correctly, the link you have just created will load the new document
- in AWeb.
-
- 9 - You could now add a link from the new document back to the
- original page, if you want.
-
- 10 - Image Hyperlinks are very similar to normal hyperlinks.
- Details on image hyperlinks in found in " Image_HL ".
-
- 11 - Hyperlinks between documents on the internet (as opposed to on
- your system) are constructed using the " Hyperlink " item. The
- principle, however, is the same as with local links. You will have
- to manually insert the path, unless you use the " Hyperlink_get "
- item.
-
- 12 - The " Hyperlink-get " item is a variation of the " Hyperlink "
- item. In this case, the URL of the document being viewed in the
- AWeb window is inserted into string [path].
